Recognizing Unsafe

Bio-chemicals

It has been established that there are specific bio-chemicals that have a very negative effect on the body. An artificial coloring, Red 32, for example was banned in 1956 because it caused damage to internal organs and was considered a weak carcinogen. Beware because Red 32 is still being used today under the name of Citrus Red 2. Bio-chemicals in foods we consume can target certain areas in the body. Cyclamate, an artificial sweetener banned in 1970 was said to cause bladder cancer and damage to the testes. Cyclamates are not presently thought of today as a cancer causing agent directly, but it is said that it can increase the potency of other carcinogens. Oil of calamus, a flavoring agent was banned 1968 because it caused intestinal cancer. Red 1, an artificial coloring was banned in 1961 because it caused liver cancer. We often eat foods not knowing the nature of the chemicals in them. How many times have we consumed products with additives that were approved by the USDA as safe only to find later that they were proven harmful and had to be removed from the market?

We may see them as just a preservative, used as a coloring or as a dye or to accent a particular flavor of food and we take granted that they are not harmful. Read the labels thoroughly because some of the bio-chemicals that are declared GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the USDA are often proven unsafe. You are what you eat.  So if you eat foods that are laden with bio-chemicals that target certain sites in your body, after a while these areas will start to manifest disease. What are some of the sites that bio-chemicals can affect?  Some of the centers in the human body are the spine, the brain, and the primal gland or the pituitary gland. What does the pituitary gland do? The pituitary gland control growth. The pituitary gland helps to regulate many bio-chemicals in the body. It helps to secrete progesterone and estrogen in women and that helps to regulate the menstrual cycle.  If that becomes calcified, if that becomes stressed and any type of chemical comes in and attacks it, then there will be problems with the menstrual cycle We have to be careful to guard our health and if we are guarding our health we have to be aware of what is taking place around us.  Don’t wait until the body is under attack and then try to defend it, you may be too late.  Practice preventative maintenance, you want to deal with possible attacks on the body before it happens. It does not make sense to wait until you are thirsty to start digging a well, you might die in the process.  We need to see what is happening before it actually happens. What are some of the areas that unsafe bio-chemicals might likely attack in the male?  If you are thinking the prostate gland you are correct. Long ago it was older men who suffered with prostate problems. The popular thought at that time was that men began to suffer with prostate problems after the seed dried up.  But today we have younger and younger men having prostate problems. Normally men about 50 years old were encouraged to have their prostate examined.  Men today start being examined at age 35.

Beware of processed foods

Processed foods made with chemical additives have become a significant part of our diet. Not only do we need to be aware of additives that are not good
nutrition but we need to be aware of additives that pose other health risks. I did a search on some of the ingredients of a popular toaster pastry and found two additives, Blue 1 and Yellow 5 that should be avoided. According to CSPI’s Guide to Food Additives, (http://www.cspinet.org/reports/chemcuisine.htm),  Blue 1 artificial coloring test findings suggested small cancer risk.  Yellow 5 artificial coloring (most widely used) caused mild allergic reactions primarily in aspirin sensitive persons.

Conclusion

It is our responsibility to know our bodies and learn to put food in that will promote health.  It is also our responsibility to know the enemy and to arm ourselves to engage in battle and be victorious.  Consider what has been shared. I challenge you to read labels and know what you are allowing your body to consume. I challenge you to check the banned food additive list via the internet search engine. Do your own research, verify and apply the truths that are good for you. The fruit of your effort will be health to your body.
